PALI TEXT SOCIETY

Founded in the UK in 1881, the Pali Text Society is dedicated to editing, translating and publishing text written in Pāḷi, the sacred language of Theravāda Buddhism. Over the year it has also published works of use for scholars and those wishing to learn Pāḷi such as dictionaries, concoradances and grammas. The Society’s journal publishes learned articles on Pāḷi studies and the history and sociology of Buddhism. The Society’s editions of the Pāḷi Tipiṭaka are considered amongst the most authoritative.
